The Town of Pelzer will hold a special called meeting tonight, Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. to hold first reading on the adoption of several county ordinances. The county ordinances considered must be adopted verbatim, without amendment. The focus of those ordinances includes the discharging of firearms, manufactured homes, unfit dwellings, a grass ordinance, hours for public use of the park, open burning, a livestock ordinance and a curfew for minors. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at the Pelzer Community Building to receive public comments on the ordinances. The council talked about adopting the ordinances during a meeting held in June and again in an unannounced work session held last week.
