Area churches vandalized

Several area churches were vandalized last weekend. Anderson County Deputies responded to four locations – two on Brushy Creek Road and two on Piedmont Road.

Deputy K.R. Thomason responded to Living Sanctuary Church at 201 Piedmont Road, where five windows were broken. He also reported three windows broken at Trinity Point Church at 1938 Brushy Creek Road.
Deputy J.C. Smith found five windows broken in the education and fellowship building at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at2513 Brushy Creek Road. The carpet was also damaged and will have to be replaced. Damage was estimated at five thousand dollars.
Deputy S. Napolitano found six windows broken at Life Springs Church of God at 405 Piedmont Road. In addition, the building was painted with graffiti.
All four incidents took place on Saturday, August 18. The total damage to all four buildings was estimated at eight thousand dollars. Anyone with information concerning the incidents can contact Detective Watts at the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
