FRAYA WHITWORTH LEMING

Fraya Whitworth Leming, age 63, formerly of Woodruff passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

A native of Anderson County she is the daughter of Arlene Heath Whitworth of Williamston and the late Marvin David Whitworth and the widow of Kenneth Virgil Leming.

She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, the Palmetto Appaloosa Horse Club  and was a Purchasing Agent with Fort Dearborn Company.

Fraya is survived by two daughters, Shannon Garrity (Brian) and Heather Tapp (Michael)  of Anderson; a son, Justin Leming of Greenville; three sisters, Linda Kirtley (Chris) of Alabama, Tina Garrard (Chris) and Donna Cernogorsky of Williamston; one brother, David Whitworth (YobHui) of South Korea; three grandchildren, Tanner Leming, Gretchen Garrity and Hadley Tapp.  Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Carey Caldwell.

The family is at their respective homes.

KAYLA DAWN ROGERS-BURGESS

DOD: 8-18-18

Kayla Dawn Rogers-Burgess, 31 years old, of Pelzer, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She is survived by husband, Larry Burgess Jr. of Piedmont; mother, Tammy Rogers of Pelzer; and half-brother, Jamie Rogers of Piedmont.

She leaves behind five children, Kayle, 16, Gregory, 13, Nathaniel, 7, Kylie, 3, and Brooklyn, 3 weeks.

She was predeceased by her father, Frankie Rogers.

Kayla was a very kind loving young woman who was gone too soon, but will forever be in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is at the home, 239 Eastview Road, Pelzer.

JEFFREY COOLEY

Jeffrey Todd Cooley, 29, of Belton died Sunday, August, 12, 2018.

Born March 18, 1989 in Greenville, he served in the United States Army and worked with Frigidaire.

Surviving are his daughter, Isabella Grace Cooley of Saluda, father, Jeffrey Dale Cooley, of Belton, mother and step father, Tina Davis of Belton, sister, Jessica Cooley of Greenwood, brother, Brandon Cooley of Honea Path, sisters, Michaela Davis of Belton and Amber Acuff of Pelzer, paternal grandparents, Wilton and Emma Sue Cooley of Belton, maternal grandfather, Mark Brandt of Douglasville, GA.

Funeral services were held  Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, 3205 Hwy 81 North. Burial followed in Garden of Memories.

The family is at their respective homes.

BRYANT ELLIS

Bryant Oneal Ellis, 47, of Pelzer, died Thursday, August 16, 2018. He was the son of L.C. Ellis Sr., and the late Viola Aye Ellis.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Denise Ellis; one daughter Jelisa Williams; two sons Jamal Ellis, and Shaquille Ellis; two sisters Wanda Chapman, and Antonia Seaborn; one brother L.C. Ellis Jr.; and a grandson.

Funeral services were Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

The family is at 159 Smith Drive Pelzer.

MATTHEW TAYLOR

Liberty – Matthew Elijah Taylor, 5 month old son of Matthew “Seth” Taylor and Destany Marie Moore, died Monday, August 20, 2018.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother, Aiden Jeramiah Moore; grandparents, Jody and Larry Johnson, Sherry Harris, Jimmy Moore and Luke Comer; great-grandmother, Rosalee Taylor.

Visitation will be from 10:15 to 11:00 am Thursday, August 23, at Bessie Road Baptist Church. The service will follow at 11:00 am in the church with burial at West View Cemetery, Liberty.

LAVAUGHAN BREWSTER

Adrian LaVaughan Brewster, 50, of Cummings, GA, died Friday, August 17, 2018.

Born in Jackson County, WV, he was the son of Adron and Charlotte Brewster of Piedmont. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He taught in the science field for eighteen years, most recently at Etowah High School in Cherokee County, GA.

He is survived by daughter, Brooklyn Elaine Brewster of Williamston; son, Cameron Brewster of the home; sister, Amanda Bian of Plano, TX.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary.
