West Pelzer Police officers made a number of arrests recently, including several for driving under suspension or uninsured. One person, Terry Lynn Lockaby had been driving under suspension for ten years. In another incident, a driver under suspension was allowed to call two licensed drivers to retrieve his vehicle, and when they arrived, one of them was found to be driving under suspension.
Several drug arrests were made.
West Pelzer Police Chief Chris Brewer said that a routine traffic stop led to what may be the first seizure of the designer drug “flakka” in Anderson County. Test results on the substance are still pending.
The WPPD also assisted Anderson County officers in arresting Adam Lee Garst on several warrants against him in Florida. He was wanted there for using a communications device to entice a child for sexual purposes. He was taken into custody without incident.
