The Williamston Church of Christ and Anderson County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Preparedness joined forces this week to help with recovery efforts in the coastal areas affected by Hurricane Florence. The Women’s Ministry donated 150 cases of ready to eat prepared meals which are being taken to families in Horry County. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office will deliver the trailer load of meals. Six members of the Sheriff’s Office will be in Horry County for seven days helping with law enforcement needs during the recovery. Anderson County Emergency Preparedness Director David Baker (right) ACSO Litter Officer Ron Collins, and Church of Christ pastor Don Votaw (left) loaded the 1200 meals. Baker said the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office will assist “as long as they are needed.” Senator Mike Gambrell and wife Renee helped coordinate the effort.
