RAY FOSSETT

PIEDMONT – Rayford Eugene “Ray” Fossett, 75, loving husband, daddy and poppa, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Lyman Judson and Ella Jane Dyer Fossett. He was an avid fisherman, retired from B.P. Amoco, and was of the holiness faith. He loved to fish, cut grass, and to spend time at Lake Secession where they enjoyed their second home.

In addition to his loving wife of fifty years, Diane K. Fossett, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Rae and Jeffrey “Bo” Knight of Pelzer, and Dina and Lee Hill of Woodruff; grandchildren, Jarrett and Alexis Morris, Cody and Arya Knight, Pvt. Jeff Waldrop, Phillip Knight, Allyson and Philip Simmons, Kelly, Christy Rae and Paisley Hill; great-grandson, Jake Kolb; brother, Angil Fossett of Piedmont; and their dog, Baby.

He was predeceased by three brothers; and six sisters.

Visitation was Saturday, November 10, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The service followed at 2:00 in the mortuary chapel, with burial at Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Wren High School Fishing Team, 905 Wren School Road, Piedmont, SC 29673, or to the charity of one’s choice.

The family will be at the home of a daughter, Donna Knight, 571 Old River Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

ROBERT ‘BOBBY’ EVANS BIGHAM, SR.

Robert “Bobby” Evans Bigham, Sr., 81, of Pelzer, died on Tuesday November 6, 2018.

Born in Texas, he was the son of the late Clayton George Bigham, Sr. and Frances Garrett Bigham, and the husband of Hazel Lee Teague. Bobby

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert E. Bigham, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Lynn Sutton, Sandra Jo Templeton, Lillian Jean Wilson, Aubrey Gail Ledford, Rachel Craigo, and Laurie Pauline Lopez; a brother, Clayton G. Bigham, Jr.; as well as 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday November 8th at Fletcher Funeral Service. The Graveside Service was held on Friday November 9th at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

JANE RUTH DOOLEY

Janie Ruth Dooley age 86, of Williamston, died  Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Alvah and Eunice Scott Martin. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters Janie Mae Whitmore and Diane Bilups, one son Larry Dooley, three brothers Alvah Leroy Martin, Willie Martin, and Douglas Martin, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

BARBARA JOY

WILLIAMSTON – Barbara Delores Roach Joy, 62, wife of Danny Clifton Joy, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018.

Born in Pendleton, she was a daughter of the late James Roach and Betty Ruth Harrison Mashburn and step-father, Horace O’dell Mashburn. She was formerly employed with General Electric in Greenville and was a member of Williamston First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Joy Surner and her husband, John Surner of Williamston; sister, Carolyn Hicks and her husband, Rev. Barry Hicks of Anderson; brothers, Vernon Mashburn of Williamston, and Tommy Roach of Pendleton; and three grandchildren, Tyler Epps, Jonathan Surner, and Brysan Mullinax.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Angie Joy; and brother, Jimmy Roach.

Visitation was held Wednesday, November 14, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Williamston First Baptist Church, with the service to follow at 2:00. She will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Highway 81, Anderson.

The family is at the home.

ROBERT L. KELLETT SR.

Robert Lamar Kellett, Sr., 62, of Anderson, died on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home.

Born April 17, 1956 in Greenville, he was the son of Thelma Louise Watt Kellett of Anderson and the late William Tensie Kellett.

He retired from Carolina Beer as the area sales manager.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Robert L. Kellett, Jr. of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Heather Kellett and Crystal Kellett, all of Anderson; sisters, Debbie Sheriff of Seneca and Diane Casey  of Pelzer; and five grandchildren.

The funeral service was held in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home Sunday, Nov. 11. The family will have a private burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JUSTIN ALLISON

Justin Anthony Allison, 35, of Piedmont, died Saturday, November 10, 2018.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of Johnny Budd Allison (Wanda) of Easley and Sharon Henderson Barton of Pelzer. He was formerly employed with Fabri-Kal and grew up at Bethel Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Tammy Childs and her children, Olivia and Madison Childs of the home; siblings, Jessica McMurray, Jamie Barton, Cale Barton, Nicole Guy, and Michael Smith; grandmother, Ann Wilson; one grandchild.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, November 13 at Gray Mortuary chapel.

Memorial may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.    

CHARLES ‘CHARLIE’ EDWARD WILLIAMS

Charles “Charlie” Edward Williams, 82, of Powdersville, died on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at McCall Hospice House, in Simpsonville.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William “Bill” R. Lupo, Jr. and Louise Goodlett Lupo Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Baker Williams; two daughters, Cynthia “Cyndi” Williams Everette of Powdersville, and Sheryl Williams Baker of Newport News, VA; two grandchildren; brother; David Williams of Greenville; and two half-sisters; Judy Miller and Chris Clarke, both of Greenville.

He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was employed at Cryovac/Sealed Air of Simpsonville

He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, in Powdersville.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, November 14, in the Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.

Burial was held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
