Whitefield firefighters wait on a state trooper at the scene of an accident Sunday morning. A car traveling south on Beaverdam Road ran out of the roadway and struck a mailbox and a tree. A passenger in the vehicle was transported by Medshore Ambulance Service to an area hospital.
