WALTER LEWIS ELLISON

Walter Lewis Ellison, 70, passed away on February 7, 2019, at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Edith Holland Ellison.  He was self-employed and operated several businesses in the Williamston/Belton area during his lifetime.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Megan Ellison Weedon, (Andrew) and son, Matt Ellison (Amanda), and three adored granddaughters, Sydney Weedon, Avery and Adelyn Ellison; a sister, Nancy Mitchell (Herbert); and his wife, Linda Hudson Ellison.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Joie E. Jones and brothers Edwin and Terry Ellison.

We would like to thank those of you who visited our dad during his illness, as well as those who have expressed condolences since his passing.  We especially would like to thank Rainey Hospice House for their kind and loving care for our dad during his last weeks.

We loved our dad very much and at his request, there will not be a service.

JOHN HUDSON

PELZER – John Henry Hudson, 71, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Henry Lawrence and Mary Eula Holcombe Hudson. He retired from truck driving and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by sister, Clara Gilreath (Tony) of Pelzer; brothers, Larry Hudson (Sandy) of Belton, and Ray Hudson (Susan) of Williamston; special friend, Millie Froman of Belton; four nieces and nephews; and his special four-legged friend, Spike.

Visitation was held Wednesday, February 13, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, followed by the service at 2:00 in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Big Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Williamston, SC 29697.

The families are at their respective homes.

ROGER BAILEY, SR.

Roger Dale Bailey, Sr., of Piedmont, died Friday, February 1, 2019.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Fred Bailey and Elizabeth Manley. He formerly worked for Southeastern Automatic Sprinkler Company, was a Baptist and a Carpe-Master.

He is survived by his children, Roger Dale Bailey, Jr. of Piedmont, Dean Bailey of Greenville, Derrick Bailey of Piedmont, Dillon Bailey of Williamston, Destany Bailey of Greenville, Melody McClain, Mickey Fowler, and Betty Gonzalez, all of Piedmont; brother, Randy Manley; sister, Jennifer Whitworth; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be announced.

CHARLES E. LOLLIS SR.

Charles E Lollis Sr. of Greenville, died on Friday, February 8, 2019.

Born on May 24, 1935 to the late Andrew & Lunie Lollis.

He is survived by his  wife Martha Young Lollis and two sons Charlie Lollis  of Piedmont and Chad Lollis of Greenville.

He was in the rental uniform and linen business. He was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.

JO ANNE TAYLOR MCALISTER

Jo Anne Taylor McAlister, 77 of Piedmont, widow of Charles Leaman McAlister, died at her home Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Annie Land Taylor.

She was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church. She retired from Michelin North America.

She is survived by a daughter, Angie Barnett of Iva; two grandchildren, Lauren Rice and Anthony Barnett; five great grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Sunday, February 10 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church. Entombment was held in Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

SHARON BARNETT

Sharon Elaine Mitchell Barnett, 58, of Piedmont, wife of John Barnett, died Monday, February 11, 2019.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of Mary Rainey Mitchell of Williamston, and of the late Marshall Edward Mitchell. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Johnathan Luke Barnett of the home; daughter, Valarie Elaine Barnett of Pendleton; brothers, Vernon E. Mitchell of Central, Michael L. Mitchell of Piercetown, Rickey D. Mitchell of Williamston; sister, Crystal D. Mitchell of Pendleton; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 14, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, followed by the service at 2:00 in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories in Belton.

MARTHA JOHNSON

Martha Irene Davis Johnson, 80, of Piedmont, died Monday, February 11, 2019.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Delk and Alice Irene Smith Davis.

She retired from Michelin and was owner of the Downtown Café in Piedmont.

She is survived by son, Johnnie N. Johnson, II of Pickens; daughters, Allison Johnson Bagwell, Kristi Johnson Coker and Marissa Jean Johnson, all of Piedmont; sisters, Katheryn Davis Roberson Benson of Seneca and Patricia Davis Sanders of Powdersville; brother Alton “Cotton” D. Davis of Easley; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Friday, February 15, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The service will follow at 2:00 pm in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery West.
