The Mill Town Players will present “PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES” beginning next Friday, Mar. 29 through Apr. 14. The crowd-pleasing country rock music revue tells of the “Pump Boys” who sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and the “Dinettes,” Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, who run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country rock songs that received unanimous raves on and off-Broadway. With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform on guitars, piano, bass and, yes, kitchen utensils. The show features 19 musical numbers in which the actors also play the instruments. It features some new friends to MTP that you are sure to love and some faces you may recognize from previous productions.
Directed by Reed Halvorson with musical direction by Joshua C. Morton, Pump Boys and Dinettes stars Austin Finley, Austin Smith, Mark Spung-Wiles, David Sims, Kip Brock, and David Watson as the Pump Boys and Hannah Morton and Kelly Davis as the Dinettes.
Tickets are only $12, with discounts for seniors, military, and students, and can be purchased online at www.milltownplayers.org, by calling (864)947-8000, or at the door.
