Pelzer had two downed trees Monday when strong thunderstorms rolled through the area with heavy rain and strong winds. A small tree fell across the Finley street and the much larger tree was down on River street. Mark Vickery of Pelzer’s Public Works Department inspected the sites and removed debris with help from workers and equipment from the Town of Williamston. River Street was opened back up within an hour. All blocked streets in Pelzer were clear in approximately an hour and half. Some areas of Pelzer, including Town Hall, were without power for awhile.
