The 2019 “HANDS ON WILLIAMSTON DAY, Y’ALL!” or HOWDY Cleanup Day will be held Saturday, June 1. The event, originally scheduled for May 11, was postponed due to the threat of rain.
Williamston residents are invited to join Town Council members, the Palmetto AFJROTC and fellow community volunteers as Envision Williamston continues the town-wide cleanup and beautification effort project for the third year.
Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 am in Mineral Spring Park. Cleanup and beautification projects, such a planting flowers and spreading mulch, are planned for all areas of the town. A free pizza lunch will be served to all of the volunteers and give-away items.
Volunteers will be provided with clean up bags, vests, gloves and other supplies. Participants will engage in light cleanup work and the planting of annuals in designed pots or zones.
HOWDY day has become an annual event involving the community in beautification efforts for the town. The event is cosponsored by the Town of Williamston, Anderson County Keep America Beautiful, Palmetto High AFROTC, and Ace Hardware with Envision Williamston.
