SARA COKER, ELIZABETH HANEY, BERNICE HUNTER, DOT HELLER WEISNER

SARA COKER

WILLIAMSTON – Sara Eugenia Atkinson Coker, 87, widow of Lory Morrow Coker, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019.

Born in Six Mile, she was a daughter of the late Walter Mack and Flossie Mae Bell Phelps Atkinson.  She was a retired clerk from the Town of Williamston and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by son, Gene Coker (Mary) of Williamston and granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Coker.

She was predeceased by sister, Evelyn Crane and brother, Walter Atkinson.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m – Noon Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at Noon in the mortuary chapel.  Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Upstate S.C. Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.

ELIZABETH HANEY

WILLIAMSTON – Elizabeth (Lib) Ellison Haney, 88, widow of Eugene (Gene) Talmadge Haney, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Gonzerlee and Ethel Coker Ellison.  She was retired from Williamston Manufacturing and a member of First Baptist Church, Pelzer.

Survivors include sisters, Jean Ellison Boggs (David) of Belton and Sue Ellison Harbin (Bill) of Piedmont; brothers, Ray Ellison of Anderson, Harrison Ellison (Miriam) of Belton, Steve Ellison (Brenda) of Piedmont; sisters-in-law, Deborah Ellison of Piedmont and Barbara Ellison of Easley; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Michael Ellison and sister-in-law, Faye Webb Ellison.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer with visitation following the service.    The committal service will be held at the funeral home.

BERNICE HUNTER

Bernice Merritt “Beanie” Hunter, 96, of PIedmont, wife of the late Dennis William “D.W.” Hunter, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

She is survived by daughter, Maxine Jeffcoat of the home; son, Rev. Ronald Dennis “Ron” Hunter of Beaufort; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, July 19 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. The service followed with burial in the church cemetery.

DOT HELLER WEISNER

Dot Heller Weisner, 84, of Greenville, wife of Roger Weisner, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Pelzer, she was daughter of the late Bryan and Inez Heller.

She was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Cathy Nason Boothe of Greenville, Karen Jackson of Piedmont, and Larry Weisner of Travelers Rest; four grandsons; five great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; three sisters, Nora Dodd, Macy Stevens, and Patsy Atkins; two brothers, Sammy Heller and Therion Heller.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 24,  in the sanctuary of West Gantt First Baptist Church. Burial was held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
