JUNE M. ROCHESTER, GLENN HENDRICKS, NORRIS SUTHERLAND, REV. ROBERT DAVIS, WILLIAM R. CHEATHAM, SR., BARBARA MORGAN

JUNE M. ROCHESTER

WILLIAMSTON, SC – June Janelia Mayfield Rochester, 88, widow of Rev. William F. Rochester, Jr., passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Pendleton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Earl and Edna Ross Whitt Mayfield. Mrs. Rochester was a 1950 graduate of Anderson College. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ben Rochester and Jon Rochester (Cindy); eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Rochester; a daughter, Janet Rochester; and siblings, Patsy Macon, Ed Mayfield, Susan Pitts, and Ricky Mayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 18, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Reverend Billy Dickerson. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Family members are at their respective homes.

GLENN HENDRICKS

Leonard Glenn Hendricks, 90, of Belton, husband of Evelyn Chastain Hendricks, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Born in Six Mile, he was a son of the late Onest Folger and Addie Smith Hendricks. He retired as a residential contractor and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Nancy Watson of Pelzer, Margaret Lewis, Dale Hendricks, and Kathy Hendricks, all of Belton, and Pam Brown of St. Port Lucia, FL; brother, Ernest Hendricks; sisters, Bobbie Jean Kennedy, Carolyn McMahon, all of Belton, Shirley Chastain of Greenville, Polly Gambrell of Simpsonville, Oledia Coker of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and six great-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 21 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

NORRIS SUTHERLAND

Norris Ross Sutherland, 86, of Anderson, husband of the late Audrey Neil Martin Sutherland, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

Born in Lowndesville, he was a son of the late Ernest and Allie Mae Scott Sutherland. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Korea. He retired from Milliken and Company and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Marla Sutherland Chandler of Anderson; son, David Martin Sutherland of Williamston; brother, Robert Sutherland of Williamston; sister, Dale Hall of Travelers Rest; three grandchildren.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, August 17 in the chapel of Gray Mortuary. Burial followed at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

REV. ROBERT DAVIS

Rev. Robert Berry “Fuzz” Davis, 93, of Piedmont, husband of the late Alda Wilson Davis, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late William and Viola Beasley Davis. He retired from Milliken and Company Cushman Plant, and pastored many churches, including Wayside Baptist Church in Easley.

Survivors include his sons, Barry Davis of Piedmont, Mark Davis of Easley; daughter, Kathy Davis of Piedmont; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, August 21, in the chapel of Gray Mortuary. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of son, Mark Davis, 320 Camperdown Court, Easley, SC 29642.

WILLIAM R. CHEATHAM, SR.

William R. Cheatham, Sr., 93, of Piedmont, husband of the late Julia M. Cheatham died Friday, August 16, 2019.

Born in McCormick County, son of the late E.C. and Lilly Robinson Cheatham.

He was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church and retired from Duke Energy. He was a Navy veteran having served in WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Surviving is his son, William R. Cheatham. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia.

Funeral services were Monday, August 19 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church.

Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BARBARA MORGAN

Barbara Guest Morgan, 79, of Piedmont, died on Saturday, August 17, 2019.

She was born in Greenville to the late Burrell Guest and Eva Sue Griffin Guest.

She worked in Greenville’s textile industry as a weaver with Poe Mill and retired with J.P. Stevens/Bibb Co.

She was married to the late Jack L. Morgan Sr. She was a member of Park Place Church of God.

She is survived by her children, Susan Morgan, Deanna Morgan and Jack L. Morgan, Jr. and his wife, Melissa; 5 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Fowler and Betty Holtzclaw.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Park Place Church of God. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Park Place Church of God, 221 Orders Street, Greenville, SC 29609. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Family will receive guests at the residence after graveside.
