Workers from Saluda Construction install a new box culvert on Minor Street below the Palmetto baseball field. The old man made culvert had deteriorated and washed out a large hole along and under the roadway. One half of the of the old culvert was handmade with rock walls and poured cement on top. The other half which was added years later to make Minor Street two lane was concrete block and cement with rebar in it. This washout project and the new Minor Street bridge that has been under construction should be completed by the end of the month.
