Homesteading Festival Sept 14

The annual Homesteading Festival was held Saturday, Sept. 14 in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park beginning at 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Homesteading Festival features homesteading classes and demonstrations all day. The first class was basket weaving beginning at 8 a.m. At 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thunder Grove Apothecary offered classes on hemp cultivation and CBD. At 10 a.m. Robin McGee of Earthwise Learning Center discussed Nature Walk and Plant Identification. At 11 a.m., Heart of the Earth held a class on Healing Gemstones and natural remedies. At 12 noon, Lotus Farm and Garden Supply of Greenville discussed soil health 101. There were various demonstrations throughout the day.
Live music featured The Carolina Beggars and the Blue Ridge Rounders.
Several Food trucks serving BBQ, Gourmet Pizza and Americana Foods were there. A special breakfast food truck was available for the overnight campers and early morning festival goers.
This year’s festival is also featured several non-profits including he Palmetto Mustang Regiment a blood drive by the Blood Connection, offering a $20 Walmart gift card for blood donations.
