The Greenville Police Department has arrested a Pelzer man and a Piedmont woman for their involvement in a crime spree involving mail thefts, financial transactions fraud, identity theft, and weapons offenses throughout Greenville.
According to reports, Jonathan Allan Porter, 38, of 208 Ina Marie Lane in Pelzer, and Kaitlyn Nicole Jordan, 20, of 125 Bagwell Road in Piedmont were spotted at the QuikTrip on Mauldin Road on September 17. GPD patrol officers recognized their Jeep Grand Cherokee as one matching the description of an SUV involved in recent mail thefts and related crimes.
After officers approached the vehicle, they smelled marijuana and saw an open container of alcohol in plain view. Police searched the vehicle and found two weapons (1 stolen), ammunition, firearm accessories, three cell phones, and several financial cards with different names.
GPD detectives obtained a warrant before searching the room the couple was staying in at the WoodSprings Suites on Chalmers Road. Investigators seized multiple items to include numerous mail packages, stolen credit cards, computers, printing equipment, and drugs.
“There are several victims we know about, and we’re working to either return their stolen items or alert them to the possibility their identities have been compromised,” said Capt. Howie Thompson, GPD Criminal Investigations. “As our investigation continues, we fully expect other victims will be identified. Our work on this case is far from over.”

Porter has two previous convictions for Shoplifting in 2018 and 2015 and was out on bond for those offenses when he committed these crimes.
