CHRIS COLEMAN, FRED FOWLER, JOANNE GILREATH, IMOGENE ‘JEAN’ C. PACE

CHRIS COLEMAN

Christopher James “Chris” Coleman, 43, husband of Sandee Lisa Helms Coleman, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Gary Clyde and Linda Carolyn Ross Coleman of Williamston. He was employed with the Town of Williamston’s Parks and Recreation Department and owned Coleman Landscaping.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by brother, Gary Scott Coleman (Casey) of Williamston; niece and nephew, Emilie and Ross Coleman; stepchildren, Seth Helms of Townville, Danielle “Danee” Davis of Africa, and Sierra Barrs of Sandy Springs; and ten step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with visitation to follow.

FRED FOWLER

Fred Benjamin Fowler, Jr., 78, of Piedmont, husband of the late Mary Ann Davis “Macy” Fowler, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Fred Benjamin Fowler, Sr. and Flora Mae Hooper Fowler. He retired from Charter Communications.

Survivors include sons, Freddie Fowler of Taylors, Tommy Fowler of Piedmont, and Jeff Fowler  of Pelzer; brothers, Troy and Keith Fowler, of Piedmont, Sammy Fowler of Pelzer; sisters, Dot Browning and Sandra Anderson, both of Piedmont; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, September 24, at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Piedmont.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

JOANNE GILREATH

JoAnne Vaughn Gilreath, 86, widow of Elzie Rudolph Gilreath, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Born in Belton, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Willie Mae Mauldin Vaughn.  She was retired from Pendleton Finishing and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include son, Steven R. Gilreath (Angela) of Anderson and daughter, Karen J. McBride of Anderson; grandchildren, Amity Edmonds (Ryan), Randi Phillips (Justin), McKinsey Craft and Daylee Vaughn-Gilreath; great-grandchildren, Griffen, Ellee, Braxton, Gentry, McClellion, Sully, Wells, Abe’gale, and Brenton.

She was predeceased by brother, James Vaughn and sisters, Frances Ellison and Virginia Fisher.

Visitation will was. Monday, September 23, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the service following in the mortuary chapel.  Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

IMOGENE ‘JEAN’ C. PACE

Imogene “Jean” C. Pace, 74, of Piedmont, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Born in Jonesboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Glenn Hillhouse and Myrtle Haygood Hillhouse. She was a member of Scenic Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Laura Seltz, of Isle of Palms, and Karen Pittman of Piedmont; four grandchildren; and a step daughter, Sharon Pace of Atlanta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin V. Pace, in 2018.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27 at 12:00 o’clock noon in the Greenville Memorial Gardens Chapel. Entombment will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
