Prepare to vote forums being held across Anderson County

To help voters and potential voters be ready for the upcoming November 5 election, the Anderson County Voter Registration and Elections Board is hosting “Prepare to Vote” events across the county.
A forum for West Pelzer and Pelzer and Simpsonville Precincts (Region 7) will be held on Monday, Oct. 14 at the Powdersville Library. These voters will be voting for School District 1; County Council Districts 6 and 7; House 9 and 10 and Senate 4.
The regional Voter Registration Forums are being held to discuss changes in voting precincts around the county, polling places that had to be relocated to new facilities, the importance of maintaining voter registration information and registering to vote. “We divided the county into 8 geographical regions for this first phase of outreach,” said Katy Smith, Director. The events are open to all citizens.
Other forums scheduled include:
Monday, Sept. 30 (Region 3) Varennes, Gluck Mill, Homeland Park, South Fant Precincts voting for
School Districts 3 and 5; County Council 2 and 5; House 7  and 11 and Senate 4. The forum will be at South Fant School of Early Education.Tuesday, Oct. 15 (Region 5) for West Savannah, Mountain Creek, Flat Rock, Starr Precincts voting for
School District 3, County Council District 3, House 7,  8 and 11 and Senate 4. Forum will be held at Starr-Iva Middle School.

Monday, Oct. 14 (Region 7) for Simpsonville, West Pelzer and Pelzer Precincts voting for School District 1; County Council Districts 6 and 7; House 9 and 10 and Senate 4. The forum will be held at the Powdersville Library.

Monday, Oct. 28 (Region 1) Anderson 3/1, 3/2, 4/1, 4/2, 2/1, 2/2, 6/2, 5/A and Broadway
voting for School District 5; County Council Districts 1 and 2; House 6, 7, 8 and 9 and Senate 3 and 4. The forum will be held at the Anderson Main Library.

People desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by October 6, 2019.
