The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is providing public notification of the Commission approved 21 day public comment notice to amend the 2017-2022 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) to include: preliminary engineering and construction phases for nine (9) Off-System Bridges in five (5) Counties. Three of the bridges are located in Anderson County including one in Williamston.
They are: Bridge ID 3579 on Route S-169 over Six & twenty Creek 10 miles South East of Pendleton; Bridge ID 3804 on Route S-932 over Big Creek, located one mile SE of Williamston and Bridge ID 1671 on Route S-1021 over Huntington Creek, located in the City of Anderson.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is providing public notification of the Commission approved 21 day public comment notice to amend the 2017-2022 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) to include: preliminary engineering, right of way, and construction phases for 36 Off-System Bridges located in 23 counties throughout the state.
The replacement of these bridges aligns with SCDOT’s 10 year plan to reduce the number of closed and load restricted bridges, while improving the movement of goods and services in the affected regions. The preliminary engineering has begun in an effort to expedite the design of the new bridges.  The total cost estimated for these bridges is $96,759,765.   A summary of substantive comments will be made available to the Commission upon request. Pending no substantive comments and with local coordination, these bridges will be included in a subsequent STIP revision.
