Books open for Pelzer Special Election

A Special Election for the Town of Pelzer will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020
Voters will decide on two offices, mayor and one councilmember, which will be the only offices included in the election. Anyone planning to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by March 1, 2020.  To register, contact the County Board of Voter Registration.
Books are now open for citizens desiring to be candidates for one of the offices. Potential candidates  may file at the Pelzer Town Hall, 103 Courtney St., Pelzer.  Books will remain open during regular business hours until noon on February 18, 2020.
The filing fee for Council is $25. The filing fee for Mayor is $50.
This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.
Newly elected councilmember Will Ragland announced Tuesday that he is filing to run for the Mayor’s seat in the special election. Ragland is currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem. Raglan regained his former seat on council in the November election.
