The Mill Town Players will present Charlotte’s Web, the Beloved Tale of True Friendship
Mar. 5 – Mar 8 with shows Thurs. – Sat. at 7:30pm and Sun. at 3pm.
Described as the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years, Charlotte’s Web tells the story of  Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some pig.”
It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will give young actors a great opportunity and the audience an evening of enchantment.
Charlotte’s Web is directed by Will Ragland and features a cast of 32 local actors. Appearing in the production are Riley Fincher-Foster, who stole your heart in A Smoky Mountain Christmas, Meris Privette, who has graced our stage in Bright Star, Beehive, and California Dreamin, and Kyle Kerr, a veteran Upstate actor performing on our stage for the first time!
Tickets are only $12, with discounts for seniors, military, and students, and can be purchased online at www.milltownplayers.org, by calling (864)947-8000, or at the door.
Mill Town Players will present Classic Country Mar 12-15.
