The Town of Williamston is taking steps to help reduce the chances of spreading the coronavirus locally.
The Town Volunteer Dinner originally scheduled for this Thursday, Mar. 19, has been rescheduled to April 16th.  Court will not be held in Williamston until after April 14th according to the Clerk of Court. Williamston Recreation Department announced that practice for Tball, baseball and girls softball has been postponed until after March 31st.
According to community outreach coordinator Debbie Chapman other measures are also being taken.
“We are frequently cleaning surfaces that are more frequently contacted and the clerks are wearing rubber gloves while handling money,” Chapman said. “We are asking that people use the online bill pay or the drive thru payment service, but the payment windows inside are open for now.”
Town of Williamston trash services are still on normal schedule. There will be no pickup/surrender of animals by town Animal Control unless it is an emergency situation as Paws of Anderson is closed.
