Anderson County Summary Court cases postponed

Due to concerns for public health involving the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Anderson County Summary Courts Criminal, Traffic, and Civil Court Cases have been postponed through April 13.  This includes all Bench and Jury Trials both criminal, traffic and civil. All individuals who had court scheduled during this time will be sent a notice once their case has been rescheduled.
All outlying Magistrates Offices in Pendleton, Belton, Honea Path, Powdersville, Williamston, and Iva have been closed until further notice.
The Anderson Magistrate Office in the Ronald Townsend Building located at 2404 N. Main Street, Anderson will only be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with limited access to the public for the following: Acceptance of filings and payments (including bonds) and Emergency hearings (including, but not limited to: restraining orders, orders of protection, bond revocation/modification, and vacating of bench warrants)
If there is a criminal/traffic fine that needs to be paid, then it can be paid online through the Anderson County website via SC.Gov.  Citizens are encouraged to pay online or conduct their business via telephone or email. Anderson Summary Court main switchboard is 864-260-4156.
All civil filings will be left in the drop box at the Security Desk and your receipt and paperwork will be mailed to you.  Please provide full and accurate information on all paperwork.  No hearings will be scheduled for civil cases until after April 13.
Bond Hearings will be conducted at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the present.  Victims of crimes are encouraged to speak with their Victim Advocate before the bond hearing.  Only immediate family members of the defendant or the Victim will be allowed to enter the building for bond court.  No children under the age of 18 will be allowed to enter the building for bond hearings.  No one who is ill or has had a fever within the last 24 hours will be allowed in the building due to safety concerns for court personnel.
