Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
March 16 – Officers Corey Brown and Jimmy Sparks responded to the AnMed emergency room in response to a report of an accidental shooting at 4 Attaway St. Upon arrival, they learned that Justin Scolari, WM, 24, 5’10”, 170 pounds was handling a Glock handgun when it discharged, shooting him in the hand. His sister was present and confirmed that no altercation occurred. She transported her brother to the ER. Scolari did not require surgery and was not charged with anything.
March 19 – Officer Daniel Hart responded to a call from James Allen Smith, WM, 32, 5’11”, 170 pounds that he was at the residence of Phillip Marshall at 2 W4th St. when Marshall drove him from the house at gunpoint. Allen claimed the gun was a black handgun; Marshall said it was a BB gun. Marshall has a felony conviction and cannot legally possess a firearm. No search warrant for the weapon was issued by the town judge and no charges were filed.
March 19 – Officer Ray Hart responded to the town water treatment plant on Collage Avenue, where public works director David Rogers reported the discovery of a small amount of marijuana and a pack of rolling papers. The material was seized as evidence.
March 22 – Officer Michael Jackson responded to 18 Edgewood Dr. where he placed Hayden Roberson, WM, 25,6’4”, 210 pounds on trespass notice at the request of Lori Smith who resides there.
March 27 – Officer Ray Hart was summoned to the Dollar Tree Store at 1 Greenville Dr. where the manager revealed a bicycle with a box of discarded items on it, as well as an unconscious person behind the dumpster. After waking and questioning Matthew Parsons, WM, 26, 5’1””, 165 pounds and discovering drug paraphernalia on his person, including a small amount of marijuana, Hart arrested him for simple possession and transported him to the Anderson County Detention Center.
