Carol Crane, Mary Thomason, Tim Ray

Carol Crane

Pelzer – Margaret Carol Bennefield Crane, 70, wife of Paul Lewis Crane, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at her home. 

   Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Joe and Mary Elizabeth Clarke Bennefield.  She was retired from J.P. Stevens Estes Plant and a member of the Pelzer Church of God. She was also a U.S. Army veteran.

   In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Toni Osteen (Craig) and Paula Pitts (Roger); Tony Crane (Lora) and David Crane (Laurie); sister, Judy Cole (Mike); 14 grandchildren, Johnna Drummond, Makaylie Osteen and Heather Porter, Seaera Collins, Austin and Amber Pitts, Lindsey Robinson, Lauren, Nathan, Constance, Justin, Cory, David, Jr. and Heath Crane; 13 great-grandchildren.

   She was predeceased by a son, Jason Crane; sisters, Myrtle Carson and Sandra Farmer; and brothers, Carl, Wayne, Gary and Raymond Bennefield.

A graveside service was held, March 30, at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, 315 Hamlin Road, Liberty, SC 29671. Visitation followed the service.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.

Mary Thomason

Mary Elizabeth Belt Thomason, 81, wife of the late William Harold Thomason, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Hiram Eugene and Letha Sanders Belt. She retired from Franklin Dyed Yarn Company.

Survivors include sons, Donnie Earl Thomason, Sr. of Easley and Michael Ray Thomason of Pelzer; sisters, Letha Chandler Patrick of Belton and Sammie Jo Hembry of Williamston; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on March 30, at Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Tim Ray

Timothy Andrew “Tim” Ray, 62, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Ralph Lee and Annie Mae Tollison Ray. A U.S. Army Veteran, he was formerly employed with Southeastern Paper Board, and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Christopher Lee Ray and Timothy Allen Ray both of Lexington, NC; brother, Dennis Ray of Riverside, CA; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held, with a public memorial service to be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, 419 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
