A man was shot on Foghorn Court near Williamston Friday evening and died a short time later according to Greg Shore, Coroner. The victim was transported by ambulance to AnMed Health Medical Center and was pronounced deceased at 8:23 pm. Brent Simpson, Deputy Coroner advised that the victim has been identified as Travis Green, 49 years-old of Williamston.
Deputy Coroner Simpson advised that the shooting incident appears to be the result of a domestic altercation and there is no danger to the public. The death has been ruled a homicide and an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning.
The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Anderson County Office of the Coroner. Medshore Ambulance Service, Whitefield firefighters, and LifeFlight responded to the call. (Photo by David Rogers)
