Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said that the fire occurred around 11:00 pm Wednesday night at 1110 Orr Street, Pelzer.

The Anderson County Fire Department, along with Pelzer EMS, responded to the residence.  Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found the single story residential structure with heavy fire throughout the residence and with reports of an explosion, which is thought to be due to oxygen tanks in the residence.  Upon extinguishing the fire, Fire fighters found the victim in a room towards the front of the residence.
The victim was the only one in the residence at the time of the fire.

The fire is still under investigation.

There appears to be no indication of foul play. The investigation is ongoing by the Office of the Coroner and the Anderson County Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit.
