Anderson School District One recently announced that the District plans to host a live graduation at 10:00 am Friday, June 5 at each of the District’s three high school football stadiums.
Palmetto High School Graduation Services will be held at 10 a.m. June 5 at Dale Martin Field and will be followed by a parade through three area towns.
The South Carolina State Department of Education, in consultation with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), have set guidelines that limit all graduations to two guests per graduate.
In order for all family and friends to be a part of the ceremony, each event will be streamed live on FaceBook.
Each high school will also hold a Senior Parade immediately following the ceremony so that additional family members and friends can join the celebration and honor the graduates.
Immediately following the ceremony for Palmetto High graduates, a parade will be led through West Pelzer, Pelzer, and Williamston.
Vehicles with graduates in them should park in the main student parking lot.  If a graduate is riding with their parents, they will park in the main student parking lot also.
The Parade route will be:  Leaving the Palmetto High parking lot, Palmetto Road to Stewart Street (will pass West Pelzer Elementary) turn right on Highway 8 (Main Street); go through West Pelzer and Pelzer, turn right on Courtney Street, left on Highway 20; continue through Williamston to the intersection at Hardee’s.
Appropriate social distancing should be observed along the parade route.
Rain date is June 6 at 10a.m.
Each of the high schools will provide detailed instructions for each graduate and family in the near future.
