Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore and the Anderson County Sheriff’s office is investigating an incident in which a woman died after being shot multiple times.
At approximately 12:30 am Friday morning the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call at 820 Joe Black Road, Williamston, in reference to a woman that had been found in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives and Forensic Investigators also responded.
The Office of the Coroner was notified a short time later and responded to the scene.
Brent Simpson, Deputy Coroner said that the victim, Amanda Marie Stovall, 36 of Williamston, died at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the death is the result of a domestic altercation and there is no danger to the public.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday morning.
The incident remains under investigation by
the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Anderson County Office of the Coroner.
