Stop the Spread – Free Mask, Tee Shirt Distribution Saturday in Mineral Spring Park

Local officials are joining Anderson County to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and will be giving away free masks and tee shirts this Saturday in Williamston and Pelzer.

As part of a county wide campaign to emphasize the importance of protecting yourself and others against the coronavirus, the Williamston Police and Fire Department will be distributing free face masks at the Williamston Mineral Spring Park on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 10 am until all masks have been taken.

There will be a police car and a fire truck on scene.

Steven Ellison, Chief of Williamston Fire Department stated that masks will be given on a first come, first serve basis and only one mask per person will be given. Water and ice will be provided by the Fire Department.

There will also be free “Williamston Strong” tee shirts given away until they run out which are also on a first come, first serve basis with only one shirt per person.

Ellison reported that 500 masks and 200 tee shirts have been ordered for Saturday’s event. Please practice social distancing while in line.

Masks will also be distributed for Pelzer and West Pelzer residents this Saturday at the Pelzer Auditorium. Officials with the Town of Pelzer and Town of West Pelzer will be at the Pelzer Auditorium, 214 Lebby Street, beginning at 8 am.
