Books open for candidate filing – School Board, Watershed Commissioners

Filing for Anderson County Non-Partisan Offices opened Monday, August 3, and will close at noon, August 17.
Any candidate seeking to run for any Non-Partisan office in the 2020 General Election must file with the with the appropriate county board of voter registration & elections or the South Carolina Election Commission during the upcoming filing period.
Filing for the following seats: Brushy Creek Watershed District 07- 2 Seats; Three & Twenty Watershed District 32- 3 Seats will be with the State Election Commission (SEC), 1122 Lady Street, Suite 500, Columbia, SC 29201.

Brushy Creek Watershed District 07- 2 Seats; Three & Twenty Watershed District 32- 3 must also file with Anderson County Board of Voter Registration and Elections.

Big Creek Watershed District 04 – 2 Seats
Broadmouth Creek Watershed District 05 – 3 Seats
Homeland Park Water District 108 – 2 Seats
Piedmont Public Service District 110 – 2 Seats
County Board of Education Districts 2, 7, 8, 9

School District Trustees: District 1 Area 2, 3, 6; District 2 Area 2 (2 seats to fill), Area 1; District 3 Area 2, 3; District 4 Area 1, 3 and District 5 Area 1, 3, 4, 7- At-Large.
Filing should be made with the Anderson County Board of Voter Registration & Elections at 301 N. Main St., Anderson, SC 29621.

Filing hours are: Weekdays: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Closed from 12:00 – 1:00 for lunch.
The Statement of Intention of Candidacy form required for filing is available in the “Candidate Information” section of scVOTES.org and at the Elections office.
Filing Fee: There are NO filing fees.
State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.
