On Tuesday (Aug. 18) DHEC reported 691 new confirmed cases and 15 new probable cases of COVID-19.On Tuesday (Aug. 18) DHEC reported 691 new confirmed cases and 15 new probable cases of COVID-19.DHEC also reported 47 additional confirmed deaths and 10 new probable deaths.
This brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 2,230, and 113 probable deaths.

Anderson County reported 61 new cases and one new probable case. Anderson County reported four deaths and one probable death related to COVID.

Greenville County reported 48 new cases and five deaths related to COVID.

As of Monday, a total of 940,948 tests have been conducted in the state. The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 3,716 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 18.6%.

Hospitals reporting: 83 82 reported within 24 hours
Total hospital beds: 12,535; Inpatient beds: 10,267  Occupied inpatient beds: 7,831 which is 76.27% utilization rate.
ICU beds: 1,454; Occupied ICU beds: 1,090 which is 74.97% utilization rate.
Ventilators available 1,564, Ventilators in use: 521 which is 33.31% utilization rate
COVID patients hospitalized: 1,116, 14.25% of inpatients are COVID
COVID patients in ICU: 294; 26.34% of COVIDs are in ICU
COVID patients ventilated: 173, 15.50% of COVIDs are ventilated

Daily numbers from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) have indicated that the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and related deaths, are dramatically decreasing in South Carolina.
