The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) today (Monday, Aug. 24) announced 543 new confirmed cases and 19 new probable cases of the COVID-19. DHEC also reported 7 additional confirmed deaths and no new probable deaths.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases since the first case March 6 to 111,202, probable cases to 1,349. Total confirmed deaths for the State are 2,387, and 124 probable deaths.
Anderson County is reporting 14 new cases, Greenville County 40.
Anderson County is reporting four deaths related to COVID-19.
Greenville County reported one new death related to COVID.
There are currently 979 hospital inpatients due to COVID.
248 are in ICU and 148 are ventilated.
