SCDHEC – COVID daily case count continues to decline

On Thursday (Aug. 27) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 424 new confirmed cases and 42 new probable cases of the COVID-19. DHEC also reported 42 additional confirmed deaths and 14 new probable deaths.

Anderson County reported 15 new cases and five deaths with another death possibly related to COVID.
Greenville County reported 9 new cases and five deaths related to COVID.

This brings the total number of confirmed confirmed deaths to 2,494, and 134 probable deaths.
The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 5,234 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 8.1%.

DHEC reported 1,006 COVID patients hospitalized. 262 are in ICU and 144 are on ventilators.

DHEC also reported the following:

COVID patients hospitalized: 1,006 11.99% of inpatients are COVID
COVID patients in ICU: 262 26.04% of COVIDs are in ICU
COVID patients ventilated: 144 14.31% of COVIDs are ventilated
