Candidate filing for Pelzer Special Election opens Friday

Filing for the seat on Pelzer Town Council left vacant by the election of Will Ragland as mayor begins this Friday, Sept. 4.
Any candidate seeking to run for Town Council in the November 10, 2020 Special Election can file with the Clerk of the Town of Pelzer at Town Hall, 103 Courtney St., Pelzer during the upcoming filing period.
Filing opens noon, September 4 and closes noon, September 18, 2020.
Filing hours are weekdays 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Statement of Intention of Candidacy form required for filing is available in the “Candidate Information” section of scVOTES.org and at the Town Hall.
Filing fees are paid at the time of filing by candidates seeking to run. Filing fee checks should be made payable to the appropriate Town of Pelzer.
Candidates are alsorequired to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election. Potential candidates can contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.
