SCDHEC COVID Update – Sept. 2, 2020

On Wednesday (Sept. 2) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 601 new confirmed cases and 45 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. DHEC reported 26 additional confirmed deaths and 11 new probable deaths.

Anderson County reported 41 new cases and one probable new case, and four deaths.
Greenville County reported 42 new cases and five deaths.
This brings the total number of confirmed deaths related to COVID to 2,652, and 142 probable deaths.

There are 892 COVID patients hospitalized. Of those 228 are in ICU and 145 are on ventilators.
A total of 1,023,083 tests have been conducted in the state. The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC statewide was 3,063 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 19.6%.
