Williamston hosts Rise Above Cancer balloon event

The Cancer Association of Anderson Hot Air Rise Above Cancer balloon event was held in Williamston Friday and Saturday.

The festival featured several hot air balloons flying each day as well as nightly balloon glows and tethered rides. Cancer patients and family members were invited to enjoy the balloons.

Williamston Mayor Mack Durham said that the Cancer Association of Anderson event was a good one for the town, even with limited activities. The event was to be a festival type awareness and fundraiser, but was scaled back due to COVID.

The Town of Williamston helped sponsor the event.
