SCDHEC COVID-19 Update Sept. 22

On Tuesday (Sept. 22) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 739 new confirmed cases and 30 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 30 additional confirmed deaths and 3 new probable deaths.

Anderson County reported 63 new cases, one probable new case and three COVID related deaths.
Greenville County reported 67 new cases and three COVID related deaths.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases since the first case was reported Mar. 6 to 137,406, probable cases to 3,383. Confirmed deaths related to COVID is now at 3,067, and 176 probable deaths related to COVID.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC Monday statewide was 5,160 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 14.3%.

There are 768 COVID patients in hospital beds. Of those 187 are in ICU and 105 are ventilated.
