On Tuesday (Oct. 6) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 693 new confirmed cases and 73 new probable cases of COVID-19. DHEC also reported 17 additional confirmed deaths.

Anderson County reported 48 new cases and one COVID related death.
Greenville County reported 48 new cases and no deaths.
This brings the total number of confirmed deaths to 3,275, and 196 probable deaths.

Hospitals report their information each day to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by way of TeleTracking, and that same reporting is also provided to DHEC. According to TeleTracking and DHEC, there are 655 COVID patients hospitalized. Of those 167 are in ICU and 87 are on ventilators.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC on Monday statewide was 5,383 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 12.9%.
