Greenville County continues to see sharp increase in COVID-19 cases

On Saturday (Dec. 5) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 2,715 new cases of COVID-19 and 92probable new cases.
DHEC reported 19 new confirmed deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID-19.
This bring the total number of deaths to 4,194 and probable deaths to 323 for the state.
Anderson County reported 127 new cases and 1 death related to COVID-19.
Greenville County reported 441 new cases, 5 probable new cases and 3 deaths related to COVID-19.
There were 1029 COVID patients in hospitals with 244 in ICU and 110 on ventilators.

There were 13,073 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests) and 20.8% were positive.

On Friday (DEC. 4) DHEC reported 2,470 new cases and 90 new probable cases of COVID-19.

DHEC also reported 29 deaths and 1 probable death related to COVID-19.
Anderson County saw an increase to 117 new cases with 2 deaths related to COVID.
Greenville County saw a huge daily increase, to 410 new cases and one probable case. Greenville County had 3 COVID related deaths.
This bring the total number of confirmed deaths to 4,175 and probable deaths to 321.

There were 11,569 new individual test results reported statewide and 21.4% were positive.
Hospital numbers remained the same as Thursday with 1029 COVID patients in hospitals. Of those 244 were in ICU and 110 ventilated.

On Thursday (Dec. 3) DHEC reported 1,754 new confirmed cases and 137 new probable cases of coronavirus.
DHEC also reported 21 new deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID.
Anderson County reported 87 new cases and 1 probable case of COVID.
Greenville County reported 187 new cases, 2 probable cases and 1 death related to COVID.

This bring the total number of deaths related to COVID to 4,145 and 321 probable deaths.
There were 7,360 new individual test results reported statewide with 23.8% testing positive.
There were 1029 COVID patients in hospitals. Of those 244 were in ICU and 110 ventilated.
