DHEC – Greenville County leading the state in daily COVID cases

On Wednesday (Dec. 9) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported a slight decrease in the daily number of confirmed new cases of COVID 19, to 2,139 with 71 possible new cases.

Anderson County reported 111 new cases and no deaths.
Greenville County still leads the state with 345 new cases reported and 3 deaths related to COVID.

The state did see an increase in the number of daily deaths related to COVID with 26 deaths and 1 probable death being reported.
There were 10,411 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests) with 20.5% positive.

There were 1217 COVID patients in hospitals with 275 in ICU and 128 ventilated.
There are 1700 ICU beds in the state with 1349 of those currently in use. There are 1,930 ventilators available in the state with 542 currently in use.
There are a total of 11,156 in patient beds with 9,056 currently occupied.
