SCDHEC Update – Greenville County seeing in decline in number of new cases

On Monday (Dec. 14) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 2,364 new cases and 14 probable cases of COVID-19.

DHEC also reported 11 new deaths and 1 probable death related to COVID.
Anderson County reported 121 new cases and 1 probable case and no deaths related to COVID.

Greenville County is finally seeing a reduction in the number of daily cases, however they are still leading the state, reporting 414 new cases. Greenville County also reported 2 deaths related to COVID.
Spartanburg is second in the state reporting 240 new cases on Monday.

This brings the total number of deaths related to COVID in SC to 4,398 and 353 probable deaths.

There were 11,633 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
20.3% positive.
There were 1276 COVID patients in hospitals. Of those 307 were in ICU and 140 on ventilators.
