Firefighters from Piedmont, Wren, and Powdersville work at the scene of a wreck Tuesday afternoon. A car ran off River Road, overturned, and struck a utility pole. Firefighters had to extricate the driver who was then transported to the hospital by Pelzer EMS. River Road was closed following the accident as utility crews worked.
