Jerry Dunlap

Jerry Donald Dunlap of Easley, 79, husband of Rachel Annette Crawford Dunlap, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021.

Born in Belton, he was a son of the late Thomas Ray and Elise Ann Brown Dunlap. He retired from Colonial Oil Industries, Inc. and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Jerry Christopher “Chris” Dunlap of Piedmont; daughter, Jane Patrick Dunlap Olive of Easley and brother, William Ray “Bill” Dunlap; sisters, Carolyn Dunlap Haggard and Linda Ann Dunlap Wood, all of Belton; four grandchildren,  and three great-grandchildren.

 Those who would like to pay their respects may do so Thursday, March 18, from 12:00 to 5:30 p.m. or Friday, March 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 19, at 3:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Ware Shoals. 

Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4500 Highway 86, Easley, SC 29642, or to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC 29615.

Lorraine Dubois

Lorraine Marie Gogun Dubois of Williamston, 87, wife of the late Joseph Dubois, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021.

Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Kairal and Mary Rekrut Gogun. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Harris of Camden and Elizabeth Ellis of Williamston; son, Baxter Vance of Pooler, GA; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to aid in dementia research to the Alzheimer’s Association – Upstate SC Chapter, 123 West Antrim Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.

Alston Weathers

James Alston Gartland Weathers of Concord, NC, 28, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late James Bryan and Michelle “Shelley” Blake Gartland Weathers.

He is survived by his grandfather who raised him, James “Jimmy” Charles Weathers of Belton; sister, Amber Weathers Martin of Belton; brothers, Christian Hilton of Greenville and Jacob Hilton of Anderson; bonus mom, Diane Michelle Weathers of Belton; bonus dad, William “Bill” Hilton of Anderson; fiancé, Angela Butler of Concord, NC; step-children, Kyle, Kaleigh and Jonah, all of Concord. 

A graveside service was held on March 13 at Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Debbie Ballard

Debora “Debbie” Ann Ensley Ballard of Pelzer, 65, wife of Lynn William Ballard, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

Born in Williamston, she was the daughter of the late Robert Martin and Annette Bracken Ensley.  She retired from Michelin and was a member of Washington Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by stepchildren, Jeffrey Ballard of Murrells Inlet, Rosa Sanchez of Anderson, Maria Ballard of Greenville; brother, Steve Ensley of Lyman; seven step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will received friends, March 13, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

   The funeral was held at Washington Baptist Church with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Claire Medlock

Belton – Claire Teresa Drake Medlock, 64, wife of Pelham M. Medlock, Jr., passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Claude B. “C.B.” and Wilma Chapman Drake. A 1976 graduate of Jim Leone Cosmetology School, she completed her nursing degree from Greenville Technical College and South University. She started her nursing career at Grand Strand Memorial Hospital, served at AnMed Health Medical Center for thirty-three years, and retired from Hospice of the Upstate. She was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.

   In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Abigail Summer Medlock of the home; son, Justin Medlock (Holly) of Edgefield; brother, Claude Kerry Drake of Ackworth, GA; and a grandchild due in May.

She was predeceased by daughter, Tayla Claire Jones; son, Michael Brannon Brown; and brother, Charles Terry Drake.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary.

   The service as on Sunday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel, with burial following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing observed.

The family is at the home.
