Pelzer Freedom Fest to include fun games – July 3 in Monkey Park

The Town of Pelzer will host a Freedom Fest Celebration on July 3 in the Monkey Park that will include Field Games, Raffles, Local Food Trucks, Local Vendors, a 5k Fun Run and a Parade.
Organizers encourage you to dress in your most patriotic gear and join the fun on this Saturday for Pelzer’s 1st Annual Freedom Fest in The Monkey Park. Watermelon eating contests, egg tossing and sack races will be among the activities offered.
“Be a part of bringing back an old tradition and making new memories,” a spokesperson said.
The 5k run kicks off at 8 am, followed by field day games and food trucks in the Monkey Park at 11 am.

A Freedom Celebration parade will start either at West Pelzer Elementary School or the WP Fire Department, and wind its way to the old gym in Pelzer. You can still sign up until Friday.
The parade begins at 4 pm. All proceeds go toward restoration of The Pelzer Historic Hospital. For more information, find the event on social media by searching for: “Pelzer Freedom Fest” or by contacting the Pelzer Town Office at 864-947-6231.
