COVID Cases still on the rise

COVID cases across the state and locally continue to be on the rise but may be leveling off officials say.
The numbers have been in the range of last July and early January of this year.
On Tuesday (Aug. 24 for Aug. 22) DHEC reported 3,121 new cases and 527 probable cases of COVID-19 There were 9 deaths and 1 probable death reported.
A total of 25,168 molecular test results were reported with a positivity rate of 16.2 percent. Anderson County reported 123 new cases and 27 probable cases. Greenville County reported 348 new and 9 probable cases.
There were 2,089 COVID patients in hospitals across the state with 513 in ICU and 304 on ventilators.
Ont Monday, DHEC Anderson County reported 114 new cases and 16 probable cases. Greenville County reported 378 new and 39 probable cases.
For Friday (Aug. 20) Anderson County reported 190 new cases, 30 probable cases and 3 deaths related to COVID. Greenville County reported 384 new cases, 61 probable cases 2 probable deaths related to COVID.
For Thursday (Aug. 19) Andeson County reported 189 new cases and 28 probable cases. Greenville County reported 364 new, 43 probable and 1 death.
For Wednesday (Aug. 18) Anderson County reported 180 new cases and 68 probable cases. Greenville County reported 404 new, 25 probable and 2 COVID related deaths.
