Jenny Nimmons

Ollie Jenny Lou Kelly Nimmons, 66 of Piedmont, widow of Albert Curtis “Curt” Nimmons, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at her home.

 Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Randolph Kelly, Sr. and Mamie Louise Queen Kelly.  She was formerly with Carolina Manufacturing and attended Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle.  

Survivors include daughters, Ann Marie Davis of Piedmont and Mary Catina Nimmons of the home; son, Jerry Michael Paul Nimmons of the home; brother, Thomas Randolph Kelly, Jr. of Iva; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, at Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle with the funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. 

Due to Covid-19, it is suggested that masks be worn and social distancing observed.

Kaden Bond

Kaden Jonathan Bond of Anderson, 15, son of Jeffrey Wayne Bond and Latima Nicole Wells-Burdette, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021.

Born in Anderson, he was a freshman at T.L. Hanna High School. 

 In addition to his parents, he is survived by step-father, Kevin Burdette; sisters, Rizpah Suttles and Harley Bond; brothers, Kaleb Zachary Bowman, Braxton Bond and Kyler Bond; grandmother, Melody McAlister.

Visitation was September 4, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The service followed at in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Ruth Merritt Jeffeaux

Ruth Merritt Jeffeaux, 80, wife of the late Billy Jeffeaux, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, August 27, 2021.

Born in Powdersville, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Clinton and Sarah Lou “Sallie” Trotter Merritt.

Ruth was a member of Woodside Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her family and her church. Her life reflected her love and dedication to Him and she honored him in her actions of always doing and helping others however she could. She was the true meaning of a Godly woman.

She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Davis (Robert) of Williamston; son, Jimmy Jeffeaux (Theresa) of Greenville; sisters, Lou Ellen Pruitt (Joe) of Easley and Annette Freeman of Greenville; grandsons, Clint Davis, Al and Matt Jeffeaux.

In addition to her parents, and loving husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ivory Orr, Sarah Lowery Lewellyn, and Joyce Merritt Williams; and a brother, Robert “Bobby” Merritt.

A visitation was held Monday, August 30, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery West .

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice especially Bridget and Cindy for their love and care of Ruth.

JoLynn Bagwell

Nancy JoLynn Reid Bagwell of Piedmont, 86, wife of the late Keith Lenhardt Bagwell, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late George McDuffie and Nancy Irene Callaham Reid. She retired from Upton and Upton and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Karen Bagwell Thomason of Easley; son, Michael Keith Bagwell of Piedmont; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 10 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.  at Shiloh United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at 3:00, with burial in the church cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing observed.

Gary “Garbo” Pridmore

Pelzer – Gary Eugene “Garbo” Pridmore, 72, husband of the late Tammy Elizabeth Brown Pridmore, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021.

 Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Garvin and Katherine Pridmore.  He was a former Councilman with the town of Pelzer and a retired truck driver.

   He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Pridmore of Pelzer and stepdaughter, Dawn Page of Pelzer; sister, Edith Lomax of GA; and grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Lukas Nelson, Ayanna Eastrich, Bre`Aza Pickens, and Kahleel Pickens.

He was predeceased by brothers, Dennis Pridmore, Jimmy Pridmore, Leon Autrey, and Kenneth Autrey.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. 

The service will be Wednesday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel, with burial to follow at Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Martin Armstrong

Martin Neil Armstrong of Greenville, 48, husband of Wendi Lynn Lindley Armstrong, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021,

   Born in Clinton, he was the son of Nancy Florence Alexander Armstrong and the late Martin Keith Armstrong. He was a member of Augusta Road United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife and mother of the home, he is survived by daughter, Rebecca Armstrong of Greenville; son, Martin Armstrong of the home; and sister, Lisa Kay Armstrong of the home.

  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Linda Harvey

Linda Gail Cagle Harvey of Pelzer, 68, wife of Billy Earl Harvey, Sr., passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.

   Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William Franklin “Frank” Cagle and Eunice Pearl King Cagle. A 1971 graduate of Woodmont High School, she retired from Bi-Lo.

   In addition to her husband she is survived by daughters, Michelle Harvey Gann of Piedmont and April Harvey Campbell of Houston, TX; sons, Billy Harvey, Jr. of Pelzer and Keith Harvey of Lexington; brother, Paul Cagle of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was held September 7,  at Eastview Baptist Church. The service followed with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Henry Williams

Clinton – Henry Thomas Williams, 69, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021.

   Born in Savannah, GA, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and O’Dell Sheley Williams. He formerly worked as a carpenter and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

   He is survived by two brothers, Phillip Lee Williams, Sr. (Becky) of Williamston and James Hamilton Williams (Suzanne) of Santa Maria, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

   Visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The service will follow at 2:00 in the mortuary chapel, followed by burial at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, it is suggested that masks be worn and social distancing observed.
