SCDHEC Update – Sept. 21, 2021

On Tuesday (Sept. 21) DHEC reported 1,852 new cases of COVID-19 and 306 probable cases. There were 93 deaths and 17 probable deaths related to COVID. DHEC reported results for 22,4398 molecular tests with a positivity rate of 13 percent.
Anderson County reported 128 new cases, 13 probable cases, 8 deaths and 1 probable death.
Greenville County reported 220 new cases, 6 probable cases and 19 deaths related to COVID.
The day before (Sept. 20) Anderson County reported 120 new cases and 5 probable cases. Greenville County reported 379 new, 26 probable and 2 deaths.

On Friday (reported Sept 17 – for Sept. 15) DHEC reported 3,610 new cases and 1,167 probable cases. There were 60 COVID related deaths reported and 23 probable deaths reported. 30,559 molecular test results were reported with a positivity rate of 11.9 percent.
Anderson County reported 192 new cases, 47 probable cases, 3 deaths and 1 probable death.
Greenville County reported 543 new cases, 68 probable cases, 7 deaths and 2 probable deaths.

As of Sept. 17, there have been 9,074 breakthrough cases reported. Of those, 779 have been hospitalized and there have been 215 deaths. Breakthrough cases are persons who have been fully vaccinated and still got the COVID-19 virus.
Anderson County had 111 COVID patients in hospital beds with 151 in ICU and 20 vented.
Greenville County had 348 COVID patients with 93 in ICU and 63 vented.

On Sept. 16, DHEC reported there were 2,297 COVID patients in hospitals across the state with 562 in ICU and 415 on ventilators.

Anderson County reported 142 new cases, 53 probable cases and 1 death.
Greenville County reported 432 new cases, 62 probable cases, 3 deaths and 1 probable death.
