Firefighters work to extricate driver – Highway 29

Firefighters from West Pelzer, Piercetown, and Whitefield work to free the driver from the wreckage of his vehicle Sunday afternoon. The wreck happened on Highway 29 north of Cherokee Road. The car left the roadway and struck several trees and overturned. The driver was flown to Prisma Health by helicopter. Medshore Ambulance Service, Anderson County QRV’s, deputies, and troopers responded to the wreck. Highway 29 was shut down until the wreckage was cleared. (Photo by David Rogers)
