Both Pelzer and West Pelzer will hold municipal elections on Tuesday, November 2.
In the Pelzer election, the mayoral position is uncontested, assuring incumbent Will Ragland another term. Four candidates will vie for two at large council seats. Mike Matthews and Skip Goldsmith, the incumbents seeking reelection, cover the spectrum from a more traditional, bucolic view of the town and its future (Matthews) and the more progressive and aggressive approach (Goldsmith) pursued by Ragland and his allies on the council.
Matt Turner and Donna Ide, both frequent and vocal commenters on town policy, especially fiscal, will seek to replace those incumbents. The two high vote getters will win the seats.

In neighboring West Pelzer, the results are all but settled. The mayor’s job is not on the ballot elections and only incumbent Johnny Rogers, Sr. and newcomer Jeff Lee are on the ballot. Since there are two seats available on the Council, no election day drama is expected.
